This is accomplished through cooperation between the City of Lake Oswego and the Lake Oswego Meal Network Advisory Board to provide a meal program that is community- based, emphasizes volunteer involvement, serves nutritious meals, and is financially sound.

Board members present $45,000 check to Lake Oswego city council.

This Board was established in 2003 to support the Meals on Wheels and congregate meal program at the Lake Oswego Adult Community Center. Since that time, the 503(c)3 nonprofit board has donated more than $280,000 back to the City to defray the costs of meals for people who cannot afford to donate to the cost of their food. More than one in five recipients cannot contribute to the cost of the meals.
This year the Board donated $45,000 to the City of Lake Oswego to support senior meals. More than 19,000 meals were served or delivered in 2014.

The mission of the volunteer Lake Oswego Meal Network Advisory Board is to support the Lake Oswego Meals Program in the following ways:

  • By fundraising;
  • By providing program management feedback to the City of Lake Oswego; and
  • By promoting community involvement, awareness and support through public relations and community outreach efforts.
